How Long Salvia Highs Last

The high that you get from using salvia depends on a few factors. It is different for everyone but you can get a rough idea based on how potent the salvia is and what ingestion method you use. The potency is not something which can be easily calculated to figure out how it affects the time that the high occurs but the ingestion method will still give you a good idea on how long the high will last.

Smoking Salvia
If you smoke the salvia, the effects of the high will start almost instantly. Usually within a minute they will show up and hit a climax. The peak of the salvia high will last for about two to five minutes and then over the next five to ten minutes it will slowly drift away. After the high is over, there are still some minor effects that are shown for a little while. It would be anywhere from twenty to forty minutes that the salvia high would last if you smoked it.

Chewing Salvia Leaves
Chewing salvia leaves or ‘quid’ can result in a different amount of time that you experience the effects from the salvia high. The effects slowly produce from chewing the salvia leaves. It will take about ten to twenty minutes for the effects to show up and then they will last for about half an hour. In some cases, the effects of the high from chewing salvia leaves could last for 1.5 hours but it is less common.
