The whole high from smoking salvia can last for about half an hour to an hour but it could even last for a few hours so you should not drive (as you could still be impaired) for about 3-4 hours after using the salvia.
There are downsides to smoking salvia and the main one is that the strength of the high is not as strong as it would be if you used the quid method. Smoking salvia is still the most popular method and gives a decent high which his worth having.
